My wedding scrapbook

I am not a girly girl and have never been, I grew up with 1 brother and 3 male cousins to play with. Although I did have dolls I was never one to plan and dream about that one special day, when I get to wear the perfect dress, with flowers and pretty things. I don’t really like dresses, and only wear one if I have too.

To me a perfect wedding would be all of my family and friends gathering to celebrate me and Dan choosing to get married. Our wedding will never be a small one, we both have quite large families and lots of friends that we would want to share in our day.

There are a few things that I know I want (or will have even if i don’t) for my wedding …if I ever have one, I have never been engaged and not sure if Dan will ever ask, I suppose I could always ask him 😉

I will need a wedding scrapbook, actually I will probably have a wedding spreadsheet as well as a physical book to jot down ideas, information and lists as I think of them. If you don’t know me I am a list maker, It helps me organise my thoughts to write them down. My brain seems to function at its best when I go to bed and should be sleeping. It refuses to turn off and ideas come thick and fast so a wedding notebook would also be useful. These ones from Ktwo would be perfect. I love their products, they help me get organised so well.

Colour scheme – I would go for grey/ silver with cream and maybe a hint of pale pink for a colour scheme. I don’t like bold or bright colours, so pale and muted will suit me fine.

The flower girl –  I want my little girl to be a big part of it, She is one of the most important people in my life and so needs to be a big part of the wedding celebration. She will need a very pretty dress!

The dress – When I pick my dress my mum, aunties and Nan will be with me. I am the only girl on my mum’s side and as such both my auntie’s are relying on me when it comes to planning a wedding. I want a simple dress with lace sleeves and a grey detail/bow. something similer to the pictures below.

wedding party– I want the men to wear grey suits and the bridesmaids to be in pale grey.

The cake –  I want to make my own cake. I recently made a wedding cake for a family friend, and although it was a PITA ( pain in the ass) I did enjoy the experience, but will never make mini cakes again! I want a traditional tiered cake and I know making it myself will mean I get what I want. Although I will be asking my best friend for help with it ( Danii you have been warned!)

Hair and make up– I want someone to come and do my hair and make-up on the morning of my wedding. Something like I had done at the photo shoot I had on monday would be perfect.

Invitations– I want to make my own invitations as much as possible. I think homemade invitations are nice and will be a fraction of the cost of getting some printed.

The reception – I want it to be a good party, no drama, no fights or arguments, only people who love us and some great music. I have seen some brilliant ideas for sweet buffets and photo uploading stations and with a sweet-aholic computer enthusiast for a boyfriend these will be must haves for you wedding reception.

The food – Someone recently told us about his daughters wedding they had a cooked breakfast as the meal. I love that idea, something we really want instead of the traditional chicken, fish or beef options. Dan is very fussy so maybe fish and chips or turkey dinosaurs and curly fries?

Wedding song – that will be dans territory, although I have last say over everything.

I don’t want to spend an extortionate amount on a wedding but I want it to be tasteful and nice. So venue is important. I have no idea about venue, I want it to be close to home but still in a lovely setting, somewhere like the palm house in Sefton park or the Isla gladstone conservatory would be lovely places to have a reception.

No matter what I dream or plan, it could be a registry office wedding and a meal in a pub as long as you are marrying the person who loves you and who you love.
