Baking fun and Giveaway

C and I have had some baking fun over the weekend as you might have seen on our #MySundayPhoto post this week. Well there is no excuse like Easter to get the mixer out and make some cakes.

C loves to help me bake and she is now getting good at telling me what ingredients I need next, being the official taste tester and of course helping clean up by licking the beater.

We made Easter cupcakes to share with family and friends, What do you think?

2 years of blogging and Giveaways

This month…

2nd blog photo

I started blogging as an outlet while on maternity leave after a mummy friend suggested it.

Now I know am not the greatest blogger, I only post occasionally when I remember although I do aim to post more often and my vocabulary isn’t the largest. I use my blog to help me improve my spelling as well because it has always been shockingly bad, I think that is because words don’t seem to look wrong to me ( maybe i’m a little dyslexic) if you show me four words and ask which is spelt correctly I won’t always be able to tell you as they are to me it doens’t look wrong.

I love having an outlet for my voice weather anyone really reads it or not doesn’t matter. I can share what I think here, I can share my thoughts on products and places as well as sharing photo’s. It’s completely my choice what I type out and share.
This blog is also a sort of diary/ journal of C growing up, there’s stories of her 1st hair cut, Our Florida holiday  and family events.

I love my blog, even if nobody else does and that’s all that matters.

So I want to thank those who have followed and read my blog over the last 2 years by running a few little giveaways over the next month to Celebrate our second year up and running.

My blog is mainly about family, our hobbies and things we like.
So I plan on running a few giveaways of things related to the things we blog about.

 – I want to giveaway some sweets and chocolate as who doesn’t like chocolate!

Baby and toddler show Manchester 6th-8th March 2015 ticket competition

I have attended the Baby and toddler show in Manchester a couple of times in the past and had some good days out.

It is a great place for any new parents and grandparents or parents and grandparents to be to find our all about new and exciting products as well as a way to get some good deals.

They have a mixture of stalls selling baby clothes, cloth nappies and other essential baby accessories, there are demo’s of new products like pram’s and car seats, and they also have talks from experts about topics related to growth and development.
I found it great for information on local companies and programs that are available in the north-west.

A full list of exhibitors is available here

I will be attending again this year and hopefully writing a review of all that I see, and want to give you the opportunity to go as well. Continue reading

My favourite Christmas experiences

With Christmas being less than 11 weeks away all our preparations are well underway.
Presents have been bought, list are being written and plans are being made, we will soon be starting the deep clean of the house in preparation of decorating and I will be starting the Christmas cakes.
I love Christmas and have gotten my love of the season from my mum.

My mum just adores Christmas it is her favourite time of year and she will start singing Christmas songs as early as August,  We have now come to an agreement that she wont start until after my birthday in mid September ( although I usually have to remind her of this when she starts humming them)

We have a few traditions in our house that I love.  Continue reading

Debenhams ‘Back to School’ competition

I know that C is way to little to go to school yet as she is only 18 months old, but I was reading a post about the The Debenhams Back to School Competition on They are asking bloggers to create a dream outfit for their little ones to go to school in using Debenhams kids clothes.

I thought I would have a go as I love Debenhams clothes and a little internet “window” shopping doesn’t hurt, unless it accidentally falls into my basket.

I have had a really good look thought the Debenhams kids clothes and chosen what I think would be a lovely little outfit for C to wear to nursery or school when she is bigger.

So here is our entry, I’ve put in a couple of options for shoes and bottom half covering (skirt and jeans)

  1. Ted baker Girl’s navy padded parka with faux fur mittens – This looks like a lovely warm coat in a darker colour so it wont show too much muck. The price of this coat is £48-£54
  2. Bluezoo Girl’s pink knit hooded striped cardigan – This would add a lovely warm but removable layer to the outfit, very good for winter and pretty colours. The price of this hooded cardigan is £11 -£12.
  3. Pinapple Girl’s pink star patterned light up wellies – these would be fun and great for those wet autumn days for jumping in puddles and kicking leaves while conker hunting in the park on the why home. The price of the wellies is £17
  4. Bluezoo Girl’s cream owl print top – A lovely long sleeve owl motif top, we love owls so if they are there we tend to pick them up 😀 So cute and only £7-£8.
  5. Bluezoo Girl’s navy denim heart stitch skirt – This is a lovely little skirt that will really show off the tights, its perfect as it has an adjustable waist and C has a tiny waist so this will have the perfect fit and only£7-£8.
  6. Bluezoo Girl’s black buckle ankle boots – These lovely black boots warm and practical for autumn and at only £20-£22 they are a bargain.
  7. Bluezoo Pack of three girl’s pink owl tights– These are lovely autumnal colours with owls on. These are priced at £8-£9.60

(sorry for the poor quality pictures, I’ve added links to each item with the description, each price is dependant on size.)

My wedding scrapbook

I am not a girly girl and have never been, I grew up with 1 brother and 3 male cousins to play with. Although I did have dolls I was never one to plan and dream about that one special day, when I get to wear the perfect dress, with flowers and pretty things. I don’t really like dresses, and only wear one if I have too.

To me a perfect wedding would be all of my family and friends gathering to celebrate me and Dan choosing to get married. Our wedding will never be a small one, we both have quite large families and lots of friends that we would want to share in our day.

There are a few things that I know I want (or will have even if i don’t) for my wedding …if I ever have one, I have never been engaged and not sure if Dan will ever ask, I suppose I could always ask him 😉

Mothers day outfit ideas

Last mothers day passed in a blur of feeding and changing my newborn baby, I got some lovely presents and made some very pretty mothers day presents for the nan’s, but I don’t think I changed out of my PJ’s that day.

I would love this mothers day to be different. I am hoping that the weather will be glorious, I doubt it as we live in england and the weather is very unpredictable, as I would love to go for a meal with Baby C, Dan and all the grandparents. Then go for a walk in the park and allow C to burn off some energy, We could even take all 3 dogs with us.

I have recently read a blog post from Baby budgeting about a blogger competition in conjunction with Vertbaudet ( to design an outfit for your child from their website for mothers day, so here are my idea’s for C’s outfit for mothers day.

I have had fun looking through all the cute spring and summer outfits on Vertbaudet, some may have jumped into my basket as well. I am sure C doent need any more clothes but they are all just too cute not too.

  1. Baby girl’s 100% expert parka with detachable cardigan- This is a cute coat with a heart design, it is a brilliant idea as it’s a coat and cardigan. So depending on weather your little one will be kept nice and warm using both or remove one for a warmer day. The RRP is £29 an is available in sizes 3 months up to 3 years.
  2. Pack of 2 girls tights – Tights are a must to me as C will remove socks if possible so tights are my preference. This pack of 2 contains a plain white pair that will go with anything as well as a white with beige spot’s pair. They are very cute and great value at only £5
  3. Baby girl’s soft denim shorts – I love Baby C in denim, she really suits it and the shorts and tights combo is just too cute on toddlers.  I love the bow’s and pockets on these shorts and £8 isn’t to steep for a diverse product.
  4. Pack of 2 baby girl’s t-shirt with bows on the back- This twin pack of tops is just so cute! One grey and one white top that will go with so many looks and outfits. The sleeveless look is brilliant for summer ( Although a lot of sun cream will be needed if its sunny) as you can always layer if it is a little cool. This 2 pack is only £9.
  5. Girl’s Dual fabric high top trainers- these cute little spotted trainers would look amazing with tights and shorts. They start at toddler 4 and go up to 9. C is only in 3’s at the moment so it might be a while before she could wear these shoes but they are just so adorable she needs them! The vertbaudet price for these are £17
  6. Happy price pack of 3 baby girl’s vest top bodysuits- We had these last summer and they were a godsend! These strappy body suits can go under any top or dress and means that I know even if it is a little cool you little one will be a little warmer. These are £9 for a 3 pack and come in a variety of colours.

So that would be the perfect little outfit for Baby C for our mothers day meal and walk with the family. She would stay warm but be able to move and run, and she would be able to have fun. Mothers day should be about families having fun in my opinion.

* This post is my entry into the blogging mum’s competition on Baby budgeting’s blog and used to create the photo collage*
